Samadhi

SAMADHI
It is impossible to pinpoint
Where the body ends
And the mind begins,
Or where the mind ends
And the Self begins
When you are fully in the body
You meet the soul.
Samadhi is the state
Where there is only pure
awareness.
Spiritual sadhana begins
When you go beyond
What you consider to be
Your maximum effort.

Grace

Am I the water?  I want to be the water flowing like a stream, carving my way through this muddy life gracefully.  Maybe grace is remembering I am the mud and the rocks also-- that I'm the one making this a bumpy ride.

Reach Out

Sometimes you just have to reach out.

Om Mani Padme Hum

Om: reminder that the true self is a reflection of the divine
Mani: patience
Pa:  Perseverance
Me: Concentration
Hum: Wisdom

This mantra is to help us become more tolerant and patient of ourselves and others.  Therefore we will have more perseverance, concentration, and wisdom in our daily lives.

It's a simple mantra, easy to remember but very powerful and helpful in our modern day world.  Take a few minutes to be a little more far out than usual-- take deep breathes and chant along with the video.  Focus on the syllables and create an intention with each.

Ganesha

Ganesha, "Remover of Obstacles"

Om gam ganapataye namaha!

Om gam ganapataye namaha!

Om gam ganapataye namaha!

Om gam ganapataye namaha!

Remember, Ganesha does not help you remove your obstacles by helping you plow through them.  Ganesha is a reminder to be open to the paths around your obstacles.
 Have a good luck.

The Intentional

Calling all writers and artists:  Let's change the world.  The pen is mightier than he sword.

My friend, Kate Jenkins, has put into motion a project I plan to contribute to (and hope you do too!).  It's a quarterly magazine called The Intentional.  This is the facebook page (like it): https://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Intentional/326663270704915

Kevin and I recently helped Kate with the video she will be using on her kickstarter page to raise money for the project.  Here is the video:

Kate's words on the intention behind The Intentional:
"Perhaps because of the many failed promises and dashed hopes of our generation, the need for substantial dialogue about true quality of life and how to get it seemed all the more urgent. Thus, a new quarterly publication was born – one that features thought-provoking essays that consider cutting-edge sociocultural tendencies and initiatives for their added value to our daily lives and to the global community. Its objective is to “examine innovative trends for intentional living” and to challenge readers to consider the byproducts of our lifestyles. The Intentional is concerned with evolution – of society, of art, of culture, of business, of technology, you name it – and how such subtle changes could better our lives, our communities and our world in non-materialistic ways."
